About Lesson

A walking tour is a strong among closely clustered places of interest in the tourist with a written, audio, or live guide to help in understanding meanings and significance. Without a guide, it would be easy to miss many things in a walking tour.

Written guides include brochures, maps, signage, information printed from the Internet, and books like the Lonely Planet.

An audio guide is a narration about the things you will see in particular place; it can be stationary or handheld which tourist can take with them as they move around.

Both written and audio guides can help self-guided tourists but the employ one way communication. Users will not be able to ask question or make a clarification.

Live guides or step-on guides are on-site who may be volunteers or employees of an organization. They specialize in a particular spot. Some tour guides conduct walking tours for a fee but some do it for free as volunteers or sponsored guides placed by a tourist bureau.

Of the three, tour guides would be the best option. However, budget and time constraints may compel some to opt for the other two, if free tours are not available at the desired time.
